FUNDINGS OF THE 2017-2021 ACBF STRATEGIC PLAN / 25TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS: ABIDJAN HOSTS DONOR CONFERENCE- Posted 28-06-2017

  
  
From 30 June to 1 July 2016, will be held at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire Abidjan, the launch of the Strategic Plan of the Foundation for Capacity Building in Africa (ACBF) and the donor conference.

Organized by Côte d’Ivoire, in cooperation with the African Development Bank, the initiative aims to mobilize the necessary resources to finance the Foundation's activities over the 2017-2021period.

In order to support the reinforcement of the administration capacities (at regional, national and provincial level), of the civil society and of the private sector, the needs of the ACBF strategic plan for the next 4 years shall be estimated at 250 million USD.
The new strategy aims to produce "skilled people and strong institutions to transform Africa." The Abidjan meeting will focus on accelerating and intensifying the efforts in the development of essential skills (equity and strengthening, retention and capacity utilization, strengthening key development institutions).

In doing so, the ACBF intends to ensure the effectiveness in the implementation of the achievements, the sustainability of the results, to strengthened leadership and the change of mindset so that to ensure the control and the implementation of global, continental and national strategies.

This pan-African foundation with 25 years of existence, helped train over 50,000 experts in the field of analysis of macroeconomic policy in over 45 countries, will know, with the meeting in Abidjan, a new dynamic. To consolidate and capitalize on the existing, the leaders of the expectedthirty countries, will contribute to the success of these two days of work major economic issue.

ACBF's vision is that of a recognized Africa for its socio-political and economic capabilities and attributes - a continent with effective institutions and policies - acquired through sustained investment in people and institutions. The Foundation aims to become a leader, a major partner and a center of excellence for capacity building in Africa.

Creating ACBF is a response to the acuteness of capacity needs in Africa and the challenges of investing in human capital and local institutions in sub-Saharan Africa. ACBF interventions are based on four principles: the centrality of capacity in Africa's development processes; the crucial role of partnership and an approach based on the application addressing the capacity challenges; African ownership and leadership in the capacity development process and a systematic, sequential and coordinate capacity-building process.
