From 30 June 2016 and for the next two days, Abidjan will be home to the Donors’ conference of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) and the launch of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan. Opened in the presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Interior and Security representing the President of the Republic, the donors’ conference aims to mobilize the necessary resources to finance the Foundation activities during the 2017-2021period.
The needs of the ACBF Strategic Plan for the next four years are estimated at 250 million US dollars in support of the enhancement of government capacity (at regional, national and provincial levels), civil society and industry private.

The different stakeholders have also urged donors to further support the ACBF for the crucial role it plays in terms of capacity building on the continent.

Mr. Emmanuel Nna Dozie, the Executive Secretary, mentioned that for Africa to benefit from the economic development, the institution is the right one to implement capacity building programs in Africa. "Africa has no choice but to invest in capacity building," warned Mr. Dozie, confident that economic development requires expertise not always available in certain countries.

To invert this curve, he called for the creation of national and regional units dedicated to capacity building programs in African states.
